Dr Joubert grew up in Stellenbosch where he attended Paul Roos Gymnasium before going on to study dentistry at the University of Stellenbosch graduating in 2003 achieving a distinction in Orthodontics.

Following community service in Mpumalanga he returned to the Western Cape.

A growing interest in further learning and the discipline of Orthodontics lead first to research and ultimately an appointment as registrar in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Western Cape in 2015.

Dr Joubert completed his specialist training in 2019 and was awarded his degree Cum Laude as well as attaining a Fellowship from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa in the same year.

After graduation Dr Joubert accepted a post as full-time senior lecturer in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Western Cape. In 2023 he was appointed as Acting Head of Department of Orthodontics, a position he held until 2026.

Dr Joubert remains actively involved in specialist teaching and post-graduate research as senior consultant to the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Western Cape.

He has a special interest in the care and management of patients born with Cleft Lip and palate and is actively involved in various clinics across the Western Cape providing advanced care for these patients.
